I received the book “Think and Grow Rich” when I was about 20 years old. I read it. I thought it had a great deal of good information. However, nothing changed for me. No secret had been revealed. I had been raised with a scarcity mentality. I never had enough. I was always trying to get out of debt which only to made it worse. I couldn’t understand why things never seemed to work for me.

Years later, in my thirties, I had an opportunity to read “Think and Grow Rich” again, but I had other like-minded people to discuss it with. The Carnegie formula or secret as Hill’s refers to it, was quite evident. I was able to follow it and gain great control over my finances but more importantly, the way I think. I developed an abundance mentality. I started to focus on my net worth. I realized I had a negative net worth. It took some time to turn this around. I remember in my net worth finally reaching $100,000. In less than 2 years it went to $200,000 and then $500,000 in less than 18 months, then over a million. This was a major turning point for me.
