Why Setting a Definite Date Turns Goals Into Reality – Step 3

"think and grow rich" chapter 2 the 6-steps from chapter 2 May 16, 2025

Now that you know how much money you want (Step 1) and what you’ll give in return (Step 2), Step 3 gives your desire structure, urgency, and a finish line.

Step 3: “Set a Definite Date”

Why This Step Matters:

  •  Focuses energy – Deadlines help people prioritize.
  •  Triggers the subconscious – The mind works toward specifics.
  •  Creates accountability – You can now measure progress.
  •  Builds belief – Saying when increases emotional ownership.

Practical steps to achieve this:

1. Anchor the Principle: When you set a date, you move from hope to commitment. Just like launching a product, building a house, or planning a wedding, you need a timeline.

2. Ask Guiding Questions:

  •  “When do you want this money in your hands?”
  •  “Is your date realistic but bold enough to stretch you?”
  •  “What monthly benchmarks could you hit between now and then?”

3. Use the Declaration Template: “By [date], I will have [amount], in exchange for [what I’ll give].”

Speak it aloud and write it in present tense.

Examples:

“By January 1, 2026, I will have earned $50,000 in exchange for helping 25 clients master money using the 7 Rules framework.”

“By October 31, 2025, I will be earning $12,000/month through my digital coaching programs and financial accountability group.”

“A definite goal without a definite deadline is just a daydream.”
