
How to Train Your Subconscious Mind for Wealth: Chapter 12 Explained

If You Don’t Program Your Mind, The World Will
Your subconscious is always active. It does not rest. It doesn’t wait for permission, it responds to whatever dominates your mental environment. If you don’t intentionally feed it strong, positive, purpose-driven thoughts, it will feed off fear, doubt, negativity, media, gossip, and external opinions.
Left unattended, it becomes a sponge for whatever random emotion or idea is in the air. This is exactly why Hill’s philosophy places so much importance on deliberate repetition because the subconscious needs to be trained, or it will be trained by accident.
How This Connects to the 6-Step Plan (Chapter 2)
Step 6. Repeat your written goal aloud twice a day with emotion: This quote from Chapter 12 reinforces the why behind Step 6. By repeatedly speaking your desire with faith and emotion, you are planting your chosen thoughts into the subconscious, crowding out anything negative.
If you skip this habit, the subconscious won’t sit silently. It will accept:
- Doubt from friends
- Fear from news
- Past failures and limiting beliefs
- Random distractions
These act like weeds in your mental garden.
Imagine you bought a piece of fertile land and didn’t plant anything. Would it stay clean and perfect?
Of course not. Weeds would grow.
Your subconscious works the same way. If you don’t consciously plant purpose, vision, and belief, it becomes overrun with fear, distractions, and noise.
Your 6-step plan is your gardening routine, planting thoughts of wealth, service, and belief on purpose.

- Audit your influences: What sources of negativity are you exposed to daily? Cut them off.
- Double down on repetition: Read your written goal every morning and night with passion. Inject it with desire, emotion, and certainty.
- Create a vision playlist: Surround your subconscious with uplifting content: books, affirmations, music, people.
- Revisit the 4 sources from Chapter 11 (especially sexual energy): Redirect powerful emotional energy into creative and financial pursuits.
Neglect is programming by default. You are either deliberately planting the seeds of your future or letting outside forces plant weeds of fear and limitation.
